Teach at River Tech
Share what you love, one day a week.
River Tech has nearly doubled — about 130 students join us this fall. We’re inviting parents, relatives, and friends of the school to teach a subject they know and love, one day a week, 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
One Day a Week
Pick a day that fits your life — Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday, four hours of teaching. That’s it.
Teach Your Passion
Robotics, filmmaking, chemistry, debate, martial arts — teach the thing you’d talk about for free, in small classes of about 15.
Paid or Volunteer
Be paid as a contractor, or volunteer with a potential tuition discount for your family. You choose what fits.
Your Community
Teach the kids of the families you already know, in a Christian school where love is the script.
Compensation
Paid teachers earn $25–$35 per hour depending on qualifications, as independent contractors.
Prefer to volunteer? Volunteer teachers may qualify for a tuition discount for their own children — discussed personally with the principal.
Who Can Apply?
Adults 18 and older who meet both of these criteria:
A. Education or Expertise (one or more)
- College degree (any discipline)
- Relevant industry certification
- Military service with leadership or technical specialization
- Proven entrepreneurial or professional experience
B. Direct Work with Children or Youth (one or more)
- Classroom teaching or homeschool co-op instruction
- Church programs / Sunday school
- Tutoring or mentoring
- Camps, scouts, Civil Air Patrol, coaching, etc.
All part-time teachers must pass an Idaho background check. River Tech covers the fee.
Commitment & Reliability
By accepting a teaching role, you agree to be present every week during your assigned slot. If you must be absent, notify learn@rivertech.me at least 24 hours in advance.
How It Works
Apply below — about 20 minutes. Tell us what you can teach and when.
We review — every application is read carefully. If your subjects and availability fit our needs, we’ll reach out.
You teach — starting September, one day a week, with our full support.
Timing matters as much as talent. A subject we don’t offer this semester may be exactly what next year needs — strong applications stay on file for future semesters and school years.
