Tuition Assistance at River Tech · 2026–27
River Tech is a meaningful investment in your child’s formation, and we want every family who belongs here to find a path that works. Here’s how tuition support takes shape for the 2026–27 school year.
1. Idaho Parental Choice Tax Credit: up to $5,000 per child
In February 2025, Idaho signed the Parental Choice Tax Credit into law, providing up to $5,000 per child (or $7,500 for students with special needs) toward private school tuition. For most River Tech families, this covers the majority of the year on its own, which is more help than River Tech’s own scholarship program was ever able to provide. This is the starting point for every family. Learn more →
From there, families typically bridge any remaining gap through a combination of personal planning and community, whether that means careful budgeting, extended family support, or volunteer service at the school. Volunteering strengthens our community and also factors positively into scholarship consideration when that step becomes necessary. See volunteer roles →
2. River Tech Scholarship
For families whose circumstances remain challenging after these avenues, a limited number of partial scholarships are still available. With Idaho now doing the financial heavy lifting that our scholarships once did, our program has become smaller and more selective than in past years. Priority consideration is given to current River Tech students and to families who are actively volunteering with the school.
Scholarship decisions are finalized in late July, once enrollment for the year has taken shape. We appreciate your patience through this process, since the wait allows us to see the full picture before making awards.
3. How to apply
- Complete the Scholarship Form (about five minutes).
- Pay the $20 processing fee via secure checkout.
- All applications are held on file and reviewed together in late July, once enrollment for the year has taken shape. You’ll receive an email then with the decision and next steps. Additional documents (e.g., proof of hardship) may be requested if your application advances.
If you have questions in the meantime, you’re welcome to email Dan directly.
