Full-Time Teacher
Help us raise the leaders of the next generation.
River Tech is a school first, and the heart of this role is a love for students and the calling to form them. We serve about 130 students in grades 1–12, across two tracks — full-time and homeschool — and we’re adding a teacher with the range, the character, and the vision to grow alongside us.
Also hiring: an AI-fluent Executive Assistant and part-time teachers — and for the right person, the EA role can combine with teaching.
A Christian Foundation
Our days begin with worship, prayer, and a short devotional. We teach real life before digital life and character before credential — and all of it rests on faith.
Arts & Technology Together
Our students code, build robots, and make films, and the performing arts run through the life of the school. Three pillars that belong together.
Small Classes, Known Children
Classes of around fifteen — small enough that no child is ever a stranger — taught by a small, close-knit faculty.
Grow With Us
We have grown quickly, and we’re still being built. The future — however fast it changes — is worth building for, and worth building well.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll need a bachelor’s degree, and real experience teaching a class of children — whether that came in a school, a homeschool co-op, a Sunday-school room, scouts, or Civil Air Patrol. Beyond that, we’re looking for a particular kind of teacher:
- Tech-savvy and artistic, as we ask our own students to be.
- Grounded in Christian faith — glad to pray with a child and speak plainly about virtue.
- A visionary who meets the future with optimism rather than fear.
- Nimble enough to thrive in a young school that is, in many ways, still being built.
You’d teach across disciplines, as all of us do. Whatever subjects you bring — science and math, A.I. and robotics, leadership, band — they are an asset we would gladly build around, not a checklist you must satisfy. And who you are in front of a class weighs with us far more than the field named on the diploma.
Our Culture
We are unapologetically shaped by faith, family, hard work, and the Idaho outdoors. We believe real growth requires grit: we let students meet genuine difficulty and learn to press through it, because we are forming character, not merely delivering content.
Before you apply, we’d ask you to read who we are, in full, and see whether it resonates: Our Culture.
Compensation
Pay follows a published scale set by two things — your level of education and your years with us. Choose the track that fits your life: full health, dental, and vision benefits, or an additional $500 a month to arrange the coverage that suits you best — the choice most of our team makes.

“Years” are years of service at River Tech, and the scale rises with each one. These tables are published to give you as clear a picture as we can; the exact salary in an offer may vary with your particular qualifications and experience. The role is full-time and year-round — roughly forty-five hours a week across thirty-six weeks of active teaching, with generous breaks woven through the calendar for real rest. A background check is required — River Tech covers the cost.
How to Apply
Apply below — about 20 minutes. Tell us who you are, what you’ve taught, and what you love to teach.
We review — every application is read personally by the principal, and we reply promptly.
We meet — a real conversation, a visit to the school, and a look at whether the mission fits.
Can you see yourself here? That is the real question — not whether you can fill a slot, but whether the mission is already, quietly, your own. If something in you leaned forward as you read this, we would love to hear from you.
Warmly,
Dan Hegelund · Principal, River Tech School
