Field Trips
At River Tech, students engage in thoughtfully planned field trips that transform lessons into real-world experiences.
Our trips provide real-world learning and immersive experiences that textbooks alone cannot offer. We run monthly excursions, with more frequent trips during summer. From hands-on time at local farms to historical insights at museums, these experiences deepen students' understanding of what they learn in the classroom.
Field trips are optional, with spots offered first-come, first-served to both River Tech Premium (Full-Time) and River Tech À La Carte (Home School) students and family members. Trips run monthly, with more during warmer months. Each field trip has a fee (starting at $20). We plan a trip, and if you want to go, you sign up and come!
Past Trip Highlights
🧗 Coeur Climbing Company — January 16, 2025
Our River Tech students took on a fun physical challenge: rock climbing! They all had a blast. The gym was buzzing with energy as students tackled routes of varying difficulty, from beginner-friendly walls to advanced climbs that tested their skills and courage.
🥾 Higgens Point Hike — December 4, 2024
Spectacular views of the lake, and we even spotted eagles! Our students learned about Ecclesiastic wisdom: there is a season for everything, a time to be born and a time to die. The eagles and seagulls were having a feast!
🚔 Post Falls Police Department — December 6, 2024
Kids asked the officers so many good questions! They loved learning about what equipment and tools the police use, checking out the evidence room, and climbing into the Rescue 1 vehicle and the police car. A great educational field trip!
🏖️ Quemlin Park — August 28, 2024
Such a fun beach day! Many kids got in the water and swam, some played capture the flag, others dodgeball or volleyball, and some older kids went on a hike.
