Technology
The Technology branch at River Tech is where innovation and wisdom meet. Coding, robotics, engineering, and digital design are tools for building and stewarding God's world with excellence. Technology sharpens the mind, teaches problem-solving, and prepares students to shape the future rather than be shaped by it.

At River Tech, we see technology as more than gadgets and screens. It is a calling to create, to innovate, and to bring order out of complexity. Every program written, every circuit connected, every prototype designed is an opportunity to reflect the brilliance of the Creator, who formed all things with precision and purpose.
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." — Colossians 3:23 ESV
Just as athletics trains the body and the arts shape the soul, technology strengthens the mind. Students learn perseverance in debugging, creativity in design, and discipline in engineering. Our vision is to raise up a generation that doesn't just consume technology but builds it, wields it responsibly, and glorifies God through innovation.
Join us as we raise up inventors, builders, and problem-solvers who will bring excellence, courage, and ingenuity to every area of life.
Sincerely,
Jordan Ezell

Technology Director: Jordan Ezell
Jordan Ezell holds a B.S. in Game Development from Full Sail University and a degree from Master's Commission in Biblical Counseling. He loves creating board games and video games, and can't wait to teach our students how to create their own games. Jordan is heading the Tech Department at River Tech. Expect your kids to learn programming, robotics, 3D animation, videography, sound engineering, game development, etc.
At River Tech, coding is more than a skill. It's a journey of discovery, creativity, and balance. We equip students with tools to thrive in a world shaped by technology, while helping them grow as well-rounded people grounded in Christian values and enriched by the arts. With screen-free Wednesdays and structured coding sessions, we promote a healthy relationship with technology.
Our coding curriculum begins in second grade with Scratch Jr., building logical thinking and problem-solving in a playful, approachable way. As students advance, they transition from Scratch into text-based languages like Python and C#, using platforms such as Unity to design games and apps. This progression develops coding proficiency along with creativity and resilience.
Beyond coding, River Tech integrates performing arts, crafts, life skills, and faith, preparing students to meet tomorrow's challenges as both skilled coders and thoughtful leaders shaped by wisdom, integrity, and imagination.
Coding Curriculum Progression
Scratch Jr. (2nd grade) → Scratch (block-based coding) → Python → C# with Unity (game & app development)
Our robotics program takes students on a hands-on journey of discovery, beginning as early as second grade. Using the Vex Robotics curriculum, students learn the fundamentals of mechanical design by working with gears, shafts, standoffs, and other components to build robotic arms, cars, and Ferris wheels. This foundation builds both creativity and technical understanding as students see how individual parts come together to form working machines.
From there, they bring their creations to life through coding, discovering the relationship between software and hardware. As their skills grow, students tackle Vex Go competitions that mirror real-world challenges, from ocean exploration to city infrastructure and even Mars missions. These projects emphasize teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation over competition alone. Students then advance to Arduino, deepening their robotics knowledge through open-source programming and more complex applications. Our program equips students with the technical expertise and critical thinking skills needed to lead in tomorrow's world of technology and engineering.

Our 3D modeling program introduces students to digital creation through Blender. From designing characters and environments to producing animations and 3D prints, students gain hands-on experience that unlocks the creative, technical, and spatial parts of the mind.
Each week, they learn new techniques: shaping objects, adding textures, lighting scenes, and animating movement, steadily building confidence in their skills. Over time, students also learn to prepare and print their own models, connecting the digital to the physical.
Our program equips students with the imagination and technical skills to thrive in the growing fields of digital media, animation, and design.
