1. Why volunteer?
- Maintain our ~1:15 teacher–student ratio and keep classes small
- Enrich lessons with real-world expertise

2. Current Volunteer Needs
Specific volunteer roles and schedules are posted closer to the start of the school year, once class rosters are finalized. If you’d like to be considered as roles open up, please submit a Volunteer Application below, and we’ll be in touch as positions become available.
3. Who can apply?
Adults 18+ who meet both criteria:
A. Education / expertise (one or more):
- College degree (any discipline)
- Relevant industry certification
- Military service with leadership or technical specialization
- Proven entrepreneurial or professional experience
B. Direct work with children or youth:
- Classroom teaching or homeschool co-op instruction
- Church programs / Sunday school
- Tutoring or mentoring
- Camps, scouts, Civil Air Patrol, coaching, etc.
All volunteers must pass an Idaho background check. River Tech covers the fee.
4. Commitment & Reliability
By accepting a volunteer role, you agree to be present every week during your assigned slot. Notify learn@rivertech.me at least 24 hours in advance if you must be absent.
5. The process
- Submit the Volunteer Application (~10 minutes).
- If shortlisted, schedule an interview time.
- Complete the background-check consent.
- Onboarding: Prior to the start of the school year.
- Start serving students!
6. Perks & support

- First dibs on piloting new programs and events
