What is River Tech Days?
Three afternoons at The Heart where families bring their children to visit our campus, meet our teachers, and sample a full slate of classes taught by our staff. Music, technology, sports, performing arts, and discovery — one giant test-drive of River Tech.
River Tech is a Christian school built for artistic, tech-savvy kids who love music and technology. Alongside core subjects, students learn performing arts and technology every day. During River Tech Days, your child gets a real taste of that life alongside our full-time students.
Though the March 15 fire took our building, it didn’t take the school. We were back in class within two weeks, and we’re now welcoming you and your family to The Heart.
The Schedule
Each afternoon runs from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with three class periods. Children are grouped by age and assigned to classes that match their interests.

What Makes River Tech Different
River Tech is built for artistic and tech-savvy kids who love music and technology. Alongside core subjects like math, language arts, social science, and science, students learn technology and performing arts every day. Class sizes are around 15 students, roughly half of most public schools. Our teachers spend real time with each child, and students move at their own pace through a competency-based model grounded in Christian values.
River Tech is a School of Technology. Students learn coding, digital arts, 3D modeling, robotics, filmmaking, digital design, Legos, and engineering. Hands-on every day: learning by doing, building projects, and playing.

Questions Parents Ask
Do parents stay with their child, or drop off?
Either works. You're welcome to stay and watch, since many parents want to see the classes firsthand, or you can drop your child off and pick up at 4 PM. Class is in session, so parents who stay are asked to be silent observers.
What grades is River Tech Days for?
Grades 1 through 12. Classes are taught at age-appropriate levels so your child lands in the right group.
Is this a commitment to enroll at River Tech?
No. River Tech Days is three afternoons of real classes — no pressure, no pitch. If you love it, we’ll be glad to talk about fall enrollment.
What is the culture like at River Tech?
River Tech is a Christian school built on biblical principles. Each day begins with a worship song, prayer, and a short devotional, and faith runs through the day rather than being set aside during classes. We raise kids to love God, honor their families, contribute to their community, take responsibility for themselves, work hard, and build things worth building. We don’t teach gender ideology, critical race theory, victim mentality, or cancel culture. Children attending River Tech Days get to take part in that life alongside our full-time students.
Can River Tech accommodate children with special needs?
To be upfront: River Tech does not have special education staff or specialized programs. High-functioning students with mild learning differences are welcome and will be treated like any other child, with the same activities and the same expectations. Children who need one-on-one aides, sensory supports, or a modified curriculum will likely find a better fit elsewhere. Not sure? Email learn@rivertech.me before registering and we'll talk it through.
What should my child bring?
Standard school supplies such as a notepad, pencils, eraser, and pencil sharpener, and, importantly, a device. Students who choose coding or 3D modeling must bring their own laptop. Starting in 2nd grade, students should bring a tablet for class use. Around age 10, students should transition to a laptop.
Recommended devices:
- 💻 MacBook (2020 or newer)
- 💻 Windows laptop: Intel Core i5 (8th gen) or AMD Ryzen 5 3500U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, NVIDIA GTX 1050 or AMD RX 560, Windows 10 (64-bit)
- 📱 iPad (2020 or newer)
- 📱 Android tablet: Qualcomm Snapdragon 670, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, Android 9.0 or newer
We're happy to offer general specifications, but families choose the device that works best for them.
Can I send more than one child?
Yes. Siblings are welcome and can attend together or pick different days. If you’d like to add a sibling to your existing registration, email learn@rivertech.me.
