Release and Acknowledgment

Please read before checking the box below.

Acknowledgment of Program Participation and Risks

I, the undersigned parent/guardian, understand that my child(ren) (the “Participants”) will be engaging in various activities as part of River Tech School's Program. These activities range from low-energy, intellectual pursuits such as coding and design, to higher-energy physical activities including sports, physical education, and field trips. I recognize that these activities inherently carry risks, including but not limited to injury or harm from equipment use and physical exertion.

Assumption of Risk

River Tech Days includes active play, P.E., group games, hands-on projects, and occasional field trips. Kids will run, climb, build, and move, and sometimes that means bumps, scrapes, or the occasional twisted ankle. I understand that participation in these activities carries inherent risks, and I accept them as part of a full and engaged school day. I agree that River Tech School, its staff, and its volunteers are not liable for injuries or incidents that occur in the normal course of these activities, except in cases of gross negligence.

Personal Belongings and Valuables

I understand that while River Tech School takes reasonable measures to safeguard personal belongings, it cannot be held responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal items, including electronic devices and other valuables. I acknowledge the importance of the student labeling their personal items with their name for easy identification and recovery. Bringing valuable items to school is at the student's and parent's/guardian's risk.

Waiver and Release

In consideration of the Participants' opportunity to engage in the Program, I hereby release and forever discharge River Tech School, its employees, officers, and volunteers (collectively, “Releasees”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever directly or indirectly arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death, that may be sustained by the Participants or any property belonging to the Participants while participating in such activities.

Medical Authorization

In the event of a medical emergency involving my child, I authorize River Tech staff to secure emergency medical care and transport. I will make every reasonable effort to be reached, but if I cannot be reached, I authorize qualified medical personnel to administer treatment they deem necessary. I agree to be financially responsible for any medical expenses incurred on behalf of my child.

Media Release

I grant River Tech School the right to use photographs, videos, and other media captures of my child(ren) exclusively for legitimate school purposes, such as in school publications, on the River Tech website, and the school's official social media platforms. I trust that all media will be used respectfully, preserving the dignity and integrity of my child(ren). I also consent to River Tech's use of AI (Claude by Anthropic) for administrative assistance, including database maintenance.

Acknowledgment of School Culture

I affirm River Tech's school culture as declared on the school website and summarized here: a Christian school built on biblical principles, with prayer, worship, and gratitude woven into daily life. River Tech affirms God, family, community, personal responsibility, patriotism, merit, grit, and entrepreneurship, and does not adopt the ideological frameworks of contemporary progressive culture, such as gender ideology, critical race theory, victim mentality, or cancel culture.
